The Sun Salutation is a series of gentle movements that you do in a flow that helps regulate breathing, makes it easier to focus and stimulates circulation in the body. Over the years, the Sun Salutation has come to be used to soften the body, strengthen and cleanse it, and calm the mind.
Here's how:
1. Inhale and stretch your arms above your head.
2. Exhale and fold your upper body forward.
3. Put your hands down and step back with your right foot. Place it in your knee.
4. Inhale and raise your arms.
5. Exhale, place your hands on the mat and step back into downward dog.
6. Inhale and roll into a plank.
7. Roll your shoulders back, pull your elbows in and lift your chest up.
8. Exhale and push up into a downward dog. Inhale.
