Sustainability
Since 2008, we have been developing and producing beauty products with a focus on the highest possible quality and long-term responsibility. For us, sustainability is about more than ingredients – it is a holistic approach that encompasses people, products and the environment.
Our core values permeate everything we do at c/o GERD. For us, it's about more than skincare. It's about caring. Caring about your skin, about the nature around us, and about the future we share.
We create functional beauty products that truly deliver on their promises, both for the skin and for the environment. When you choose us, you should feel completely safe. Our products contain no unnecessary chemicals, plastics, silicones or substances that are difficult to biodegrade, only well-thought-out ingredients with respect for both humans and nature.
Because we produce all of our products ourselves, we have full control over the entire chain, from raw material selection to the finished product in your bathroom cabinet. This allows us to ensure quality at every step and stand behind each product with pride.
We want you to be able to take our products with you everywhere. They work just as well at home in the shower as in the mountain stream after a long hike. For us, that is the finest seal of quality. That what we create is kind enough for nature and effective enough for you.
Sustainability work
Products need to be packaged and transported from our factory in Jokkmokk. That's why material selection is an important part of our sustainability work. We work with glass packaging, recycled plastic and sugar cane plastic, and when choosing materials we look not only at function but also at origin and climate impact.
Sugarcane plastic is a more climate-smart alternative to traditional plastic. Unlike fossil plastic, which is made from oil or natural gas, sugarcane plastic is made from ethanol from sugarcane – a renewable, plant-based raw material. Sugarcane binds carbon dioxide while it grows, which contributes to a lower climate footprint compared to fossil plastic.
Sugarcane plastic has the same quality and durability as traditional plastic. It protects the contents just as effectively and can be recycled in the same system as regular plastic. It is important to know that it is not automatically biodegradable. The difference lies in the raw material and climate impact, not in the function.
For us, sustainable choices are about constantly taking steps in the right direction. Reducing our dependence on fossil resources is one of them. By choosing plant-based plastics, we can lower our carbon footprint without compromising the quality of the products you use every day.
When we ship our products, we also strive to use as little packaging material as possible. We pack efficiently and thoughtfully to reduce unnecessary material and thus the burden on nature.
Earn money on c/o GERD products
For us, sustainability work doesn't end when the product leaves our factory in Jokkmokk. We want to encourage circular behavior, where packaging is taken care of and given a new life instead of becoming waste.
That's why we partner with the Bower app. By downloading the app, you can scan our products when they're out of stock. The app shows you where the nearest recycling station is, and when you recycle, it's registered immediately. As a thank you for recycling, you get points that can be converted into money or offers.
It's our way of making recycling easier, more accessible and a little more rewarding.
Together we can close the circle – and make sustainable choices a natural part of everyday life.
