Micro-training is about super short but effective exercises for the body and mind that are done several times a day. Micro-training is a good way to break up sedentary time during the day. It gives us a nice feeling that we have done something for ourselves and so we fill up with “feel-good hormones”.
Take the opportunity to do something that gets your heart rate up while you wait for your coffee to be ready or use your desk to do push-ups.
You can also set your alarm for every full hour and move around for a few minutes every time the alarm goes off. Do squats, lunges, toe raises, stair climbing, jumping jacks, or neck and shoulder stretches.
It doesn't really matter what you exercise for, how many minutes or how often during the day, the best workout is the one that gets done!
