The causes of scabies are not fully understood, but it is believed to be caused by a lack of oil in the skin. It may also be due to a yeast fungus that is normally found on the skin or because the baby's sebaceous glands are affected by hormones from the mother. Scabies is common in children under one year of age and causes greasy, yellowish-brown or yellowish-white scales on the baby's scalp.
1. The best and most effective method is to soften the skin where the scab is. Apply 24/7 Skin Oil to the scab and leave it on overnight. It is advisable to place a terry towel over the pillow to avoid grease stains.
2. Wash your hair with 24/7 Shampoo & Body Shower, which is organically mild and gentle.
3. Use a fine-toothed comb and gently comb away the scab. You can also dampen a terry towel and rub the scab away.
4. If the problem persists, it is beneficial to apply 24/7 Skin Balm for a week to soften the scalp more.
